For many years, frugal shoppers have been using grocery coupons to help them save money on their grocery bill. However, the current economy downturn has encouraged many more people to turn to using coupons for groceries to stretch out their food dollars.If you are new to grocery shopping with coupons, you are probably familiar with the coupons that come with your Sunday newspaper. While the newspaper is still the main way that food manufacturers use to distribute their discount coupons, there are other places where you should look for those money saving coupons. Here are a few ideas on where to look for these money saving grocery coupons free.

1-) Grocery Product Manufacturers Websites 
The first logical place to start is to go to the website of the manufacturers of the products that you are thinking of buying to get discount coupons. Many manufacturers especially the big companies such as KraftGeneral MillsNestleHormel Foods, and the like will have free printable coupons for groceries items that they are promoting. If they don't have the coupons you are looking for, email them and ask them if they have any coupons for that product. Many times they will send you a nice bunch of coupons in the mail if you provide them with some useful feedback on a product that you have used. 

2-) Free Grocery Coupons Websites  
There are many coupon websites offering free grocery coupons in addition to other types of discount coupons. Most likely you will be able to find all the coupons you need at just a few of the many websites. Find the few large sites that you like and don't waste your time searching other sites. Many sites use the data banks of a few large sites so you can expect duplications. Some of the more popular sites are: 


Some sites require you to register as a member and other sites do not. But almost all the sites require that you download a printer driver before you can print free grocery coupons from their sites. Many sites also limit you to the number of copies per coupon, which are usually 2 that you can print from the site. So if you want more than 2 of a particular coupon, you will have to go to a few sites.While many sites do share coupon data bases, don't limit yourself to one or two sites. Some coupon sites may have specific deals with local supermarkets and offer online grocery coupons that you won't find anywhere else. 

3-) Sunday Papers 
One of the easiest ways to find food coupons is by grabbing a copy of your local Sunday newspaper. Most Sunday newspapers have inserts that contain coupons. In fact, some inserts can save you a hundred dollars or more, if you were to use all of the coupons. In addition to your Sunday newspaper, checkout your Saturday newspaper. Some Saturday editions also have these inserts in them and they are often much cheaper. 

4-) Magazines 
Besides the Sunday newspapers, don't forget to look for coupons in magazines. Advertisers like to use magazines to promote new products with small free samples of the product inserted between pages of the magazine or offer discount coupons to be used when buying the product. Your best bet for finding grocery coupons would be magazines that relates to home, gardening, cooking, eating healthy, etc.  


5-) Grocery Stores 
Grocery StoresYou can also find coupons for groceries inside grocery stores and supermarkets themselves. The grocery stores and supermarkets usually print their weekly sales flyers with discount coupons. There are also coupons that are in dispensers called "Blinkies," the small machines with the blinking light, that are usually placed right next to the product that is being promoted. Don't forget to look on the back of your register receipts after checking out for coupons to use on your next food shopping trip. 

6-) Online Discussing Groups
Be on the lookout for online discussion groups. You may need to do some searching, but with a little effort, you can turn up some very good discussion groups for coupon savings. You can meet people that are looking for the same type of savings as you. Often times, they will post messages with Internet links for a particular coupon or promotion.If you sign up at the discussion group, you can leave messages and questions. Usually someone will answer your questions, and may provide you with some very good information. However, this type of format is not instant, and it can sometimes take days or weeks to get a reply.
